Ingrid Roberts-Haynes has been a member of the UMOJA family since 2004. She is currently a member of the Board and the organization’s Communications Director. From its inception, Ingrid Roberts-Haynes has worked with UMOJA partners to develop the program to ensure that the mission is achieved. Such partners include Empowering Boys Initiative, Coalition of Schools Educating Boys of Color (COSEBOC), School Reform Initiative, Facing History and Ourselves, as well as former incarcerated young men who served to guide our UMOJA young men from choosing a life of violence and to improve their decision making. Ingrid Roberts-Haynes was instrumental in developing the partnership with the Black Male Initiative through John Jay College and Columbia University Teachers College.

Her professional career expands from ELA and Advisory teacher, Assistant Principal and Principal.
Her advanced educational training includes a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with Elementary Teacher Training from St. Francis College, a Master of Arts degree in English Education from New York University and many advanced certificates in the fields of administration, education, and leadership.
