Mrs. Joan Clarke Nolan has also been an original member of the UMOJA family since 2004. As the current Vice President of the UMOJA Network for Young Men Inc. MRS. Nolan brings a unique perspective to mentoring young men of color through her many years of experience as a school-based Counselor and Guidance Counselor. Her certifications and licensures cover all grades from kindergarten to Grade 12. Her extensive involvement in the field of socio emotional development includes a special look at the challenges of students living in transitional housing. Mrs. Nolan has brought her expertise to the collegiate level where she has served as an adjunct professor at Kingsborough Community College, and as a District Coordinator for the Department of Education Project Liberty, District 32, in Brooklyn,
Mrs. Nolan credentials include: an undergraduate degree in educational leadership from Queens College, a second bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Marketing from Georgia State University. Mrs. Nolan received her Master of Science degree in Counseling and Mental Health from the Long Island University/C.W. Post Campus.
Mrs. Nolan is happily married and the proud mother of 2 children and a devout woman of faith affiliated with World Changers of New York City.
